The aforementioned resolution also called on the Syrian regime and all parties to reactivate the political process and implement the resolution 2254

The resolution condemns the grave human rights situation in the country and demands the Syrian regime to fulfill its responsibilities to protect Syrians and respect the human rights of all people, including detainees and their families. It also condemns the targeting of civilians by bombing, use of chemical weapons, the destruction of infrastructure, the continued deterioration of the humanitarian situation and the deprivation of the population of the most basic necessities of life, and the need for continuous and rapid delivery of humanitarian aid without hindrance, including across the border

The resolution calls on the Syrian regime to release all detainees, reveal the fate of the missing people and stop violating their rights, determine their location, allow immediate access to them and identify the dead ones

It also clarifies that the country is also not ready for the safe, voluntary return of refugees that preserves their dignity, and calls for activating efforts to clarify accountability and prosecution of criminals

The Syrian Interim Government welcomes the decision of the Human Rights Council to condemn the criminal Assad regime, and stresses the need to activate efforts aimed at implementing these provisions, stressing the need to reveal the fate of the missing, and finding a judicial mechanism ensures that criminals are held accountable and brought to justice
